Bridging the Sustainability Gap

Delivering tactical and strategic sustainability solutions, to build impactful, resilient and enabled business.

The Sustainability Gap

Definition: ‘The mis-alignment between a company’s actual sustainability position and the needs of its key stakeholders’.

How the gap happens

The Sustainability Gap occurs where investors, lenders, regulators and customers require you to have strong sustainability credentials, yet in reality, there is a mis-match between what they need and what has been done.

In fast-moving markets, evolving regulations, rising costs, geo-politics, recruitment challenges, and changing consumer preferences have made it difficult to navigate sustainability and ESG issues.

This creates the opportunity for gaps to arise, as resources and attentions are directed elsewhere.

The issue with sustainability gaps

Having a Sustainability Gap can lead to:

  • Unclear messaging = Failure to launch
  • Misleading content = Mistrust
  • Regulatory fines = Financial / reputational damage
  • Restricted access to finance = Harming growth
  • Falling behind = Lost opportunities
  • Employee losses = Increased operating costs
  • Reactive responses = Inefficiency and risk exposure
  • Failure to adapt = Stranded assets, redundancy, market closure

What we do

We find and fix the Sustainability Gap.

From tactical quick fixes to re-thinking and enabling your strategic approach, we help your organisation become better prepared for future change and more attractive to key stakeholders.

Who you are

We like to work in the space between business and supply chains, and their key stakeholders.

You are likely right for us if you recognise some of these in your own organisation:

  • Providing ‘last minute’ or incomplete sustainability responses to customers.
  • Having downsized the sustainability team, you have an expertise and credibility gap.
  • Uncertain if product and marketing sustainability claims can be defended.
  • Need a solid sustainability / ESG strategy, but don’t know where to start.
  • Due an external ESG audit and not sure how to prepare.
  • A portfolio company needs closer alignment with your investment thesis.
  • The company is being sold and needs a credible picture of sustainability status and value.
  • Suppliers need help and you need a consistent approach to across them all.
