This free* online short course (paid where delivered in-person) is designed to inform and guide current and new Senior Executives and Board members of UK quoted companies and public interest entities as to their responsibilities with regard to sustainability & ESG governance.

Alternatively £350* per person when delivered in-person: minimum 2 attendees.

* Travel costs are included for delivery within a 2 hour (each way) travel time.

Modules

1. Overview of Governance and Sustainability / ESG(T)

In this introductory module, we’ll briefly cover common sustainability & ESG terms and definitions, emerging themes, areas of governance coverage and existing oversight structures, practices and culture.

2. Responding to a Widening Scope(T)

In this main module, we’ll explore the ever widening scope of sustainability & ESG matters. We’ll cover the key areas where a Board’s input is considered essential and necessary. From general leadership oversight, competencies and skills, regulations and listing rules, policy and codes, metrics and performance and remuneration through to mandatory and voluntary non-financial and sustainability / ESG reporting (current and emerging), climate risks and opportunities, risk management, human capital, insurance, finance and investment (and more) you’ll be better informed and prepared for the challenges ahead.

3. Structuring Board Responsibility

In this module, we’ll take look at existing Board and team structures, authority, transparency and how to practically shape sustainability & ESG governance structure and committees for best effect.

4. Governance Makes Good Business Sense

In this module, you’ll learn how and why good governance makes sense with a sustainability / ESG lens applied. We’ll cover how it all links together, the business case and what good and poor governance practice looks like.

5. Building Pathways for Success

In this final module, we’ll finish with an understanding of what delivers organisational success, how value is created and aligning to your organisational purpose.
